Adam is the son of head coach Karel — RuKa JUDO is a family business in this sense. He started judo at age 5 but at 10 switched to canoeing in Pilsen, where he spent several years at the elite-sport training centre (Středisko vrcholového sportu).
At 18 he returned actively to judo. He holds the technical rank of 3rd kyu and will sit examinations for 2nd kyu in summer 2026. He currently works as a judo instructor (cvičitel juda) and from September 2026 also as a 3rd-class coach of the Czech Judo Federation.
He studies Physical Education and Sport at the University of Education. In training he brings closeness to the teenage generation — he knows how they speak and what interests them.
