Before Christmas, the Dobřany judokas still managed to fight for several precious medals. The Ing. Radoš Memorial in Domažlice was attended by competitors Milan Čmolík and Karolína Fojtíková (who took 2nd place in her category) and Šimon Voller (1st place in his category).
Competitor Daniel Šimon, who made enormous progress this year, took part in the national Samurajská katana tournament in Jičín, from which he once again brought home a bronze medal after an excellent performance.
At the beginning of December, competitors M. Čmolík, M. Kleisner and Š. Voller travelled to a tournament in Beroun. All performed superbly in their categories and brought home three gold medals.
The following weekend was just as packed with competitions for the Dobřany judokas. On Saturday the Christmas tournament was held in Blovice, where the Ruka Judo club had a large contingent: B. Šmůlová, M. Čmolík, M. Kleisner, V. Kule, M. Kobsa, D. Chmelík, Š. Voller and D. Šimon. The competition went very well and the Dobřany athletes brought home a total of 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Barča Šmůlová went through particularly demanding bouts, fighting her way to third place after a brave performance.
On the same day, a cadet tournament took place in Prachatice, from which our so-far only cadet, Filip Hančík, brought home a silver medal.
On Sunday, competitors Š. Voller and D. Šimon took part in a Prague Advent tournament with international participation, and both managed to win medals amid strong competition: silver for Šimon and bronze for Dan.
The year 2022 was rounded off with the club’s Christmas tournament, held on the premises of the Comtes FHT company. Under the guidance of coach Karel Fojtík, the children had the chance to test their strength against their friends; the most skilled judokas were announced, and together they bid farewell to this year’s successful season.
