On the occasion of the anniversary marking 780 years since the first written mention of the town of Dobřany, several awards and acknowledgments were presented to distinguished personalities. On Friday, June 16, in the hall of the parish barn, the mayors of partner municipalities received acknowledgments from the hands of Mayor Martin Sobotka and Deputy Mayor Michal Trdlička.
A day later, athletes took to the stage to receive awards for outstanding representation of the town of Dobřany at both the national and international level in the 2022/2023 season.
Karel Fojtík — for successful coaching work.
Right up to the final days of the school year, the judokas from the Dobřany Ruka Judo club train diligently and take part in competitions. A large group dared to complete the courage trail at the Vodňácká stodola event organized by the Hrubeš couple. It was a great success.
The competition in Pardubice went very well for Filip Hančík, who managed to win 3rd place in his age category. He also fought in the older age category and there, too, managed to claim bronze.
For his next success, Filip travelled to Jablonec nad Nisou, where the Czech Cup was held. Here he managed to win a silver medal, confirming his role as an outstanding judoka. This tournament was also attended by Šimon Voller. In his weight category 26 competitors from all over the Czech Republic took part, and Šimon claimed a fine 3rd place. The excellent competitor Daniel Šimon also went to Jablonec but unfortunately did not advance to the fights for medals.
In the summer, a camp in Kašperské Hory awaits our judokas, where they will improve their fighting technique and physical conditioning.
We wish all the judokas and coaches a wonderful holiday and look forward to more shared experiences.
